Beyond Ragnarok (LARP)
Beyond Ragnarok is a Fest-style Fantasy-based Viking game set in the Dark Age era, inspired by real-world Norse mythology and the unanswered question: what happened next?
Midgard, the ancestral home of humanity has been isolated from the Higher Realms of Alfheim, Asgard, Svartaflheim and Vanaheim for over 200 years since the events of Ragnarok took an unexpected turn.
Hel and her forces of Niflheim, known as the Feigr, overwhelmed the forces of Asgard by defying prophecy and bringing destruction to all in her path.
As Gods, Valkyries, Einherjar, Humans and Jotunborn (bestial creatures not loyal to Hel) fled across the Bifrost to the relative safety of the Higher Realms, Heimdal, wounded from his battle with Loki stayed behind. He destroyed the Bifrost, cutting off Midgard from the Higher Realms and ensuring the safety of all who resided there.
Since then the Aesir, Vanir, Alfar and Svartalfar have lived together with the Human and Jotunborn refugees, and societies upon these worlds have changed and adapted to their new normality.
Alfheim, home of the Alfar (or 'Elves') saw the rise of a new faith known as 'Provenance', choosing to move away from the worship of the Aesir and Vanir, feeling that they had been abandoned and forgotten.
Asgard, home of the Aesir, continues to embody the old ways of Midgard and is considered to be the reflect the more traditional 'Viking' culture.
Svartalfheim, home of the Svartalfar (or 'Svarts/Dwarves') became a very secular society, with Svarts holding all the power in Svartalfheim, and the Human/Jotunborn refugees being forced to live on the outskirts in tribal communities.
Vanaheim, home of the Vanir, became a world of equality. Regardless of your origin, whether you were a God or mortal, you are considered equal amongst the population. Vanaheim is considered to be the most accepting of all worlds.
Now, for reasons unknown, the Bifrost has reformed, reforming the connection between the Higher Realms and Midgard.
You, as a representative from your home world, have been chosen to travel down to Midgard, to find out what happened, and reclaim the ancestral home of Humanity. You will camp together with other members of your nation, which will reflect the culture of your home world. You will face many challenges, battling monsters and the forces of Hel who now rule over Midgard. And most importantly, you will learn the new ways of using Magic previously unknown to the Higher Realms.
You can play as an Alfar, Human, Jotunborn or Svart, depending on your Home World choice, and your intentions may not be an honourable as others. Want to be a religious zealot, or an assassin, or a proud warrior, go for it! PvP is permitted in this game, so if you want to to climb the political ladder by nefarious means, you can totally do so!
Shattered Earth (LARP)
Shattered Earth is a small 24-hour Post-Apocalyptic Horror game set a few hundred years from now after the world was plunged into darkness in the not too distant future. Will you survive the horrors of Nullius and the new world?
Hundreds of years ago, in 2050, the world went through Armageddon. Volcano after volcano erupted across the world, covering the earth in ash, and plunging it into darkness and bitter cold. Humans were decimated, forced to life in the dark, barely able to breathe. But survive we did, and eventually the sun came back, allowing growth to renew, new nations to form, and civilization to take hold once again on a brand new world.
But peace was not to last, and in a climate of global mistrust, a new threat has emerged; and its happening everywhere. The things that were once just in the corner of your eye now no longer disappear; your nightmares no longer haunt you only in your dreams, and if you think something is watching you; it probably is. People are disappearing, people are dying, and the world has finally noticed.
The year is now 232AD (after darkness), and a summit has been called on neutral territory in Africa Minor, where a loose alliance of all nations called the Conglomerate are studying the ruins, plants and animals that have been found there; creatures from before the Darkness, which should not exist. You are part of that delegation, sent to pool knowledge and find out what is happening; either valued individuals sent to discuss the global crisis, or personnel sent to add to the team already in place studying the area. You are there to investigate, to learn, and ultimately, to save the world.
